In the 2024 West Bengal panchayat elections, many complaints have been raised against the ruling party since the beginning, not allowing the opposition party to campaign, arresting them by the police under various pretenses, not allowing the opposition candidates to submit their nomination papers, threatening them, various complaints were raised during the West Bengal panchayat elections. Several clashes between Trinamool Congress and opposition party Indian Secular Front have come to the fore in Bhangar region of South Twenty Four Parganas district of West Bengal. Opposition party candidate Jahrana Khatun stood for Zilla Parishad Panchayat elections in Bhangar region of South 24 Parganas. He was threatened several times before the election, counting of votes was done a few days after the election. He was present at the counting center during the counting of votes, he was ahead of the candidate of the ruling party by about 5 thousand votes. Then suddenly the lights of the counting center went off, and since then he has not been found. His mother-in-law Sarbanu Bibi lodged a written complaint with the Kashimpur police station, and based on the complaint, the local police started an investigation. After several days of searching, Baraipur SDP finally rescued Jahanara Khatun from Minakha police station area late at night. Jahanara Khatun was rescued and sent to the Baruipur sub-divisional court, and bail was given on a personal bond of 1000 rupees. The victim will give her statement in court on July 23.

Regarding Jahanara Khatun Niruddesha, top leader of Indian Secular Front Naushad Siddiqui and other leaders of his party alleged that the local cadres of the ruling party directed him from the counting center.

Canning East Trinamool MLA Shaukat Mollah said in this context, I have been saying that Naushad is a cheater and cheater since the first day. There is no truth in his words. Jahanara is blaming Trinamool by sending Khatun to Digha, I heard they were in Naushad's Furfura's house. Now everyone can see where the rescue came from, we condemn the dirty politics of ISF.
