Sameer Khandekar, Senior Professor of Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur was born in 1992 in Jabalpur district of Uttar Pradesh. He started his studies in the local government school, from an early age he was very interested in studies. After secondary examination, he got admission in engineering through entrance examination, completed B.Tech and M.Tech from Jabalpur Engineering College. He studied in Germany for higher education, returned to India with a doctorate from a famous university in Germany and started his research and education since then.

Sameer Khandekar completed his primary education at a local Hindi medium government school in Jabalpur, after which he took an entrance exam and took admission in engineering. He completed his B.Tech from Jabalpur Government Engineering College in 1992 and M.Tech in 1996. After that he completed his Ph.D from University of Stuttgart, Germany.

Career : - 

Sameer Khandekar started his career as a teacher after returning from Germany in 2004 after completing his doctorate. In 2004, he joined the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India as an Assistant Professor. Promoted to Associate Professor in 2009, and Professor in 2014. He also made important contributions to the development of the theory of physics as a scientist. Professor of Physics Harishchandra Verma who is a Padma Shri award winning scientist worked with Professor Sameer Khandekar and made important contributions to Physics.

Cause of Death : - 

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur Professor Sameer Khandekar was delivering a lecture during a conclave held for alumni at the IIT Kanpur campus on Friday, December 22nd, 2023. In the speech, he was giving various lectures on how the future technology is moving forward and how the students should use it properly to take the world further. While speaking from the stage, he suddenly collapsed on the stage clutching his chest, after which he was picked up by all the volunteers present and taken to a local hospital. He was rushed to the local Lakshmipat Singhania Institute of Cardiology. The expert doctors there declared him dead after a checkup. Soon after, his family members were informed of his death.
