Mira Murati was born in 1988 to a middle-class family in Valor, Albania. His father was a small businessman and his mother a homemaker. He was very interested in studies since childhood, he came to Canada for higher studies at the age of 16. Studied and graduated from UWC, Vancouver Island, Canada (United World College). He was then admitted and educated at Colvey College in Waterville, Maine on a scholarship from United World College, graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering.
