Adarsh Gupta was born in 1990 in Hamirpur, Uttar Pradesh, to a middle-class family. His father was a government employee and his mother a homemaker. He completed his primary education in Hamirpur Uttar Pradesh after which he got admission in Allahabad University for higher education.

In 2012, he completed his post graduation from Allahabad University. After that, he started preparing for the UPSC Civil Service Exam to join the Indian Administrative Department. He started taking preparation for UPSC Civil Services Exam from reputed Institute in Delhi. He studied for hours and months and months, he attempted UPSC three times.
While preparing for UPSC, he realized that he was more interested in teaching than being an administrative officer, so he left UPSC preparation and applied for teaching in some leading institutes in Delhi. And got an opportunity to teach in India's largest online education platform study IQ IAS.
