Who is Mira Pandey ?
Meera Pandey is a 1974 batch IS officer. At the age of 24, he was appointed to the West Bengal Cadre (Indian Administrative Service). She was an MA student of Jadavpur University English Department. Also did MSc in Social Planning from London School of Economics. He is a fan of world famous writers Shakespeare and Dickens and reads their novels and stories when he gets time.

Mira Pandey Controversy : -
While Mira Pandey was in service, she did various things against the government several times and was in the news through newspapers.
1 • Controversy started during the tenure of Food Minister Paresh Adhikari in the Left government of the state. Allegation of illegal recruitment was raised, then Meera Pandey quit after seeing the end of the protest. Finally, the then left government had to cancel the appointment.
2. In 2010, Meera Pandey cast her first vote as the Election Commissioner of the state during the Left government. Bengal wanted to vote in 85 assemblies including Kolkata Vidhannagar in one day, the then state election commissioner Meera Pandey rejected it on the question of law and order.
Mira Pandey said that there will be voting in one day in Kolkata, Bidhannagar, Uttarpara, Kotrang! The remaining 82 municipalities will be held on another day. In the end, the then left government had to accept his words.
